Our Vision

Land values in North Kitsap have grown well beyond those that justify continued "industry" level timber production.  OPG, a wholly-owned subsidiary of timber company Pope Resources has been instructed to develop several options for the long-term disposition of its 8,000 acre holding in North Kitsap.  Three options have been developed, each with its own advantages and disadvantages for OPG and the community.  By far, the most complicated and ambitious is the "String of Pearls" which depends on a very real partnership between OPG and the community.  The partnership will require tradeoffs.  The community gets more trails, open space and investment in leadership from OPG, and OPG gets to create more housing.
